Yum Yum: Cauliflower

My grandfather used to say "Would I rather have dessert or more cauliflower?".  I used to think he was crazy, why would you want more cauliflower when you can have dessert?  I now understand.  I could eat an entire head of cauliflower if it is cooked the right way.

My favorite way to make cauliflower is the easiest:
  • cut 1 head of cauliflower into small pieces
  • put on baking sheet lined with parchment paper or foil
  • coat with olive oil, salt and pepper
  • Bake in oven for ~20 minutes at 400 degrees - until tender
  • Broil on high for about 5 minutes to get the browned (I personally like them crispy)
However, this is also a great recipe and a little "Fancier"
  • 1 head cauliflower
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 TBS parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • Chicken Stalk
  • 1/8 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 1 pinch red pepper
  • 1 pinch oregano
  1. Steam cauliflower in check broth until tender (20 minutes)
  2. Preheat 375.  Mix butter, seasoning and put on cauliflower.
  3. Sprinkle with cheese and breadcrumbs
  4. Bake 10-15 minutes until golden brown

  1. I have been trying to sell my kids on the wonders of cauliflower. Maybe I will have better success with your recipe. Thanks for sharing it on foodie friday.
