Ribbon Organization

I'll admit, I have too much ribbon.   I have spools of it along with individual yards.  I love all the colors and patterns.  Every time Hobby Lobby has a sale, I can't resist picking up a few spools.  I needed a way to organize it.  This is what I did for the spools (or some of them)

I took the small tension rods and just put them in my bookshelf above my desk. I love how it adds color and they are so easy to use.  Unfortunately, with 3 rods, this is still only some of the ribbon I have.  I need to go buy at least 2 more rods and will later post what I did with all my yardage ribbon.

  1. This is great! I've seen lots of organizing options but I always seem to end up with a giant mess. Maybe I'll give this a try! I’d love for you to share this idea on Tuesday’s Tidbits @ Naptime Delights: http://naptimedelights.blogspot.ca/2012/06/tuesdays-tidbits-3.html

    Thanks so much!

  3. That worked out well. I tried that but but bought a rod to large to go through my spools opening. I'll try again with a smaller rod :) Join me for Wow Us Wednesday link up.

  4. Great idea, I have the same problem so will try that. I just read a couple of weeks ago to use a skirt hanger with the four or five rods. Been going to try that too, just haven't had a chance. thank you for sharing...

  5. I felt a kinship when I saw your ribbons and read your story (smile). Like you I am constantly trying new ways to make it easier to 'control' them! I have also used the spring rods, and a variety of other methods, but every time I see a fabulous sale I am tempted. Thanks for sharing. I am now a follower of your blog and look forward to return visits. I invite you to join me as well on my blog at http://atastefultouch.blogspot.com
