Imitation=Flattery: Anthropologie Squeezebox Top

I saw this shirt and I thought it would be perfect for our yearly family pictures but have it in white.

Normally I dress the girls up in adorable dresses.

But this year we are going casual with white t-shirts and jeans.  What do you think?

On to the shirt…  This definitely tested my sewing ability.  The tutorial said to use 2 shirts but I ended up just getting ½ yard of jersey fabric from the fabric store for the pleats and it ended up being enough.  Making the pleats was easy – just tedious.  Sewing it to the shirt caused me some headaches but I think it turned out pretty good.  The tutorial I got it from was on Welcome to the Good Life.

VERDICT:  So cute, love the shirt and will wear it all the time.  I would definitely attempt it but you do need some sewing skills (probably more than I have)

  1. It's adorable! Looks to me like you've got all the skills you need! Those are a couple of darlings you got there, too! The black and white dresses....is that by any chance McCalls #6268? I made the other one on the pattern for my GREAT granddaughter for Easter and want to make the black and white one just like it is on the pattern! If you didn't use that pattern, it looks just the same!

  2. I wish I could say I made those dresses but I didn't. They are probably a little beyond my sewing capabilities ;-)
